The Top 14 final is played on Friday June 24 between Castres and Montpellier.
It’s a remake of 2018. Castres finds Montpellier on the lawn of the Stade de France, for the final of the Top 14, Friday June 24. Four years ago, defying all predictions, the Castres won. This year, the games are more balanced. Castres, leader of the championship, has won the greatest number of victories, but keeps its head on its shoulders. “We will try to be really into it, from the first to the last minute and we will try to compete in the intensity that the Montpellier residents will give us”said David Darricarrère, coach of Castres Olympique.
Opposite, Montpellier is second in the regular season. The club wants to make history tonight. “We can have this chance, to mark the history of the club”, assured Benoît Paillaugue, scrum half of the MHR. On the field, a pragmatic game, intensity and efficiency are qualities possessed by both teams. But the experience of the Castres could make the difference.
