The PS candidate is firing on all cylinders these days: a debate on France Inter against Jordan Bardella, Friday April 12, another on BFMTV to face the head of the list Les Républicains François-Xavier Bellamy. But the face-to-face that Raphaël Glucksmann dreams of getting is with Valérie Hayer, the head of the Macronist list, because in certain polls, he reaches 12-13%. Nothing better than a duel with Valérie Hayer to set up the match. “It would be interesting, because in the leading trio we are the only ones with a left-wing project”, said Raphaël Glucksmann’s entourage. “He can still climb, according to a PS elected official, and take advantage of a collapse of the macronie, because we see left-wing voters breaking with the head of state because of pensions, the immigration law and the entry of Rachida Dati into the government.

To gain votes from Valérie Hayer, the socialists also like to recall that in the European Parliament, they sit in the second most powerful group, the only one capable of shaking the domination of the European right, when the Renew group, where the Macronists, is only third in Strasbourg. Clearly, according to the PS, vote Macronist on June 9 “no use”.

Renaissance rejects proposed initiatives

This one-on-one debate between Raphaël Glucksmann and Valérie Hayer is not on track to see the light of day. For a duel it takes two. Until now, Renaissance has not accepted any format proposed by any media, and for good reason: “the President of the Republic considers that Glucksmann must be made invisible, that there is no point in advertising him”, explains a member of the campaign team. “Our match is with the extreme right, insists close to Valérie Hayer. Let Glucksmann debate with his Nupes competitors, in the polls he is closer to LFI than to us.” In short, the Macronists want to send Raphaël Glucksmann back to the second division and above all not give the impression that there is a match with the PS.
