Tuesday, August 30, residents of Catalonia (Catalgone) had to face a terrifying spectacle: Huge, rock-hard icicles fell from the sky and slammed into the gardens and pools at full speed. Long minutes of dread and helplessness in the face of hailstones sometimes larger than tennis balls. The climatic phenomenon is extremely rare.

Others sought refuge indoors, such as in a restaurant. “It is not normal. The sky is falling on our heads”says a man. A farmer was forced to take refuge under his tractor. He still received a hailstone on the head. After a quarter of an hour of hail, the damage is significant.
