As the health situation continues to deteriorate, caregivers across France are sounding the alarm. They demonstrated Saturday, December 4 across the country, to demand more resources for the hospital, and more recognition.
Châtellerault (Vienne), Bordeaux (Gironde), Rouen (Seine-Maritime) or even Grenoble (Isère). Caregivers are asking for more resources, everywhere in France. Some even made the trip to Paris on Saturday December 4, like a nurse from Chambery (Savoie). After 20 years in the emergency room, she can’t take it anymore. “The patients are always more numerous, and the caregivers are not more”, she laments.
More than a year after the Ségur de la santé, despite eight billion euros granted to revalue the professions of the sector, the account is still not there according to the caregivers. “All salaries must be increased by 10%. And then afterwards, we continue to increase them according to loyalty to the public hospital”, suggests Dr. Arnaud Chiche, founder of the Endangered Health Collective. The fifth wave is more than ever resurfacing the deficiencies of hospitals. The situation is increasingly critical everywhere. After being received at the Ministry of Health on Saturday afternoon, some health collectives are already calling for a new mobilization on Saturday 11 December.
