Very bad surprise. By ordering a sandwich, a “Big Tasty”, through the Uber Eats app, at McDonald’s,n February 12, 2021 at the fast food restaurant in Saint-Witz (Val-d’Oise), a customer discovered… a lizard, reported The Parisian Sunday July 24. “I felt there was something weird. I opened it and that’s when I discovered a crushed lizard with the guts sticking out. It was well coated with sauce, the cook must have seen”she explains.

The same evening, she obviously returns to the restaurant to demand accountability. “I had the impression that they weren’t surprised at all, the cook was behind and at no time did he come to see us. The manager was not there”she tells the Parisian.
He is offered an arrangement: 10% reduction on his next meal. An employee also asks to get the lizard burger back, a request that the customer refuses. A manager of the sign ended up, a little later, by offering him an arrangement with their insurance. “It means that they recognize that there was a problem, I especially wanted them to apologize”she says.
The client has, since the incident, approached a lawyer who launched a direct summons for the American giant to appear in court for endangering the lives of others. The hearing will take place in February 2023 at the Pontoise court (Val-d’Oise). Contacted by The Parisianthe agency responsible for the brand’s communication ensures that a “internal investigation was immediately launched at the time of the events, in February 2021. This did not reveal any non-compliance”. “Food quality and safety are the brand’s priority and, as such, numerous audits and controls are applied throughout the preparation of our menus, reminded the agencyboth with our suppliers and within the establishment.”
