a criminal investigation opened after the suspicious death of a woman in hospital

A judicial investigation was opened at the request of the public prosecutor’s office of Béziers (Hérault) for “involuntary manslaughter” after the suspicious death of a 41-year-old woman in the hospital of this city on November 14, reveals France Bleu Hérault on Wednesday 24 November. The investigation will determine the circumstances of his death because the family denounces a medical error of assessment.

This woman, of Moroccan nationality, is called Gamila and does not speak a word of French. She went to Béziers hospital on November 13 after a miscarriage at her home. Received at the gynecological department, she was then sent home with treatment based on Doliprane, Spasfon and Ketum, an anti-inflammatory.

The eldest of his four children, Aya, aged 15 years, assures France Bleu Hérault “that no curettage has been done”. This operation consists of completely cleaning the uterus after a miscarriage to prevent residues from stagnating there. Her mother has, according to her, “uniquely [eu] an ultrasound “ while “suffered from excruciating stomach pains” and “had trouble walking”. The same evening, the father transported his companion to the Champeau clinic, to have a second opinion but “we refused to receive her because she had been seen in the hospital”, according to the girl. The family therefore returned to the hospital and the mother was placed in a room for observation.

Her daughter stayed by her side until the early hours of the morning when she was awakened by the “moans” from his mother. “I saw a lot of blood in her bed and on the floor. I was very scared and immediately alerted the staff. She was all blue, but still alive”, she assures. Her mother died of cardiac arrest, according to explanations given to the family by caregivers.

The relatives of the victim plan to file a complaint and seize a lawyer because they believe that she was badly taken care of. “I didn’t see anyone that night come to check if she was okay”, testifies the eldest daughter, assuring that her mother had already had two miscarriages in the past, when they lived in Figueras, in Spain. “Curettages and other in-depth analyzes were performed at the time. She might still be alive if that had been the case.”, regrets the child.
