A couple of Parisians open a guest house in a former presbytery in Nord-Mayenne

Jonathan Duclos-Arkilovitch and Isabelle Caparros have decided to change their lives and settle in Mayenne: this Parisian couple is opening a guest house in Lignières-Orgères, in Nord-Mayenne. They will also offer an artist residency.

Jonathan Duclos-Arkilovitch and Isabelle Caparros left their Paris apartment to open a guest house in Lignières-Orgères, in the Nord-Mayenne region, just a few kilometers from the border with Normandy. They have decided to buy the old presbytery of the village and renovate it: after four months of work, this Parisian couple can welcome their first customers from Saturday April 16th. The new owners have named their guest house La Doucelle, in reference to the original name of the town, Lignières-la-Doucelle.

5 guest rooms and a 5000 square meter garden

Jonathan Duclos-Arkilovitch and Isabelle Caparros worked until then in the field of art, performing arts and publishing in Paris. They met during one of the confinements and these forties decided to change their lives. They looked for a large building to buy and renovate to make it a guest house. The couple found happiness in a village in Nord-Mayenne, in Lignières-Orgères: a former presbytery of 310 square meters with a garden of 5000 square meters. “We fell in love with this house, this corner which is magnificent“smiles Jonathan Duclos-Arkilovitch, a 48-year-old former music programmer.”Normandy, we talk about it a lot. There, we said to ourselves that we were going to make our little paradise a little out of sight and that we were going to bring people to discover a region that is a little less known.“, adds his companion, Isabelle Caparros.

The house is spread over two floorsa space that contrasts with the size of their Parisian apartment: “We get lost and we lose our things in the house“, smiles Isabelle Caparros.

The new Lignières-Orgères guest house will also be an artists’ residence. A first weekend is organized on April 30 and May 1 with flutist Jocelyn Mienniel: guests will be able to discover his musical universe for 2 days.
