A couple found dead in Laval

(Laval) A woman and her spouse were found dead on Saturday evening in their residence in the Duvernay sector, in Laval. It would be a murder followed by a suicide according to the first information available.

The Laval Police Service (SPL) received the call around 7:30 p.m. On the spot, they located two lifeless bodies in a single-family house on Boulevard De Blois.

The death of the 71-year-old woman, whose body bore traces of violence, was found on the spot. A family member allegedly discovered the victim’s body inside the residence.

It would be a murder followed by a suicide, police confirmed Sunday morning.

According to our information, the presumed murderer is her 75-year-old spouse Joao Marques. He was also pronounced dead at the scene.

“This is a couple without history. The investigation is continuing to better understand the causes and circumstances in this case,” added Stéphanie Beshara, spokesperson for the SPL.

The stage is now up.

A similar tragedy occurred Friday evening in Dunham, in the Eastern Townships. Patrizia Rao, 59, and Frédérick-Lynn Blair, 63, were found dead in a residence on rue Lasnier.
