Before dying, Annie and Jean-Claude decided to donate the sum of €968,228 to their municipality. A sum intended to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants.
968,228 euros bequeathed to their favorite municipality. The last wishes of Annie and her husband do not surprise this couple from Poinçonnet (Indre). They remember generous friends on a daily basis: “Jean-Claude and Annie were people who came from the north of France and who came to settle in Indre. They couldn’t have children so they actually transferred a lot of things to others. “ Financial investments, life insurance, valuables, the savings of a lifetime have been bequeathed to the municipality.
From the mayor’s memory, this is the first time that the municipality of 6,000 inhabitants has received such a large donation: “Often, we have small donations of 50 or 100 euros. But a bequest of this amount is really unexpected. I took it as a real gift.” A gift to carry out long-standing projects, such as the repair of a wall in the municipal cemetery estimated at 80,000 euros. Half of the operation could be financed with this money. The bequest could also make it possible to green a schoolyard and organize activities between children and the elderly.
