Second year internships will soon become compulsory to encourage high school students to discover different facets of professional life.
In addition to compulsory internships in third grade classes, the government announced a few months ago that second grade students will also have to complete one. The objective is to introduce high school students to a profession within a company, an association or a public service. “No one should be assigned to a profession without having discovered others”assured Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy, on November 30.

This compulsory course must extend over two weeks, from June 17 to 28. 550,000 high school students will take part in the game of professional immersion. The aim of this internship is to complement the one carried out the previous year, in third grade. “It will allow us to have experience”assures a student from a high school in Hauts-de-Seine. “I don’t see why we should do one again.”said another student. “Especially since it was quite complicated to find one last year” who fears competition with third-year students who will also have to find an internship.
