“I always look like that.” Welsh composer Karl Jenkins assured on TikTok that he was indeed among the guests of the coronation of British King Charles III, reports the BBC (in English) Wednesday May 10. Some Internet users had wondered about his presence at the event, discovering it on the images of Westminster Abbey. A rumor had thus swelled on the possibility that it was Meghan Markle in disguise. Prince Harry’s wife did not attend the ceremony, while the Sussexes have been at odds with the royal family since a series of statements against “the institution”.

Karl Jenkins put an end to the unlikely guesses, the day after the coronation. “I was quite surprised that people thought I was Meghan Markle in disguise”, he laughed in a video posted on TikTok. The Welshman said he wore his impressive mustache “since he was 18”. “It was very fashionable at the time”, he guaranteed. The composer was invited because he had composed one of the pieces played during the ceremony.
