A completely drunk TAM driver was arrested on Saturday by the police, driving his bus in Montpellier on line 51 (Montpellier – Castelanau le Lez). It was a passenger who gave the alert.
This woman was alone on the bus, she is first surprised by driver’s insecure driving. Then she realizes that the bus does not take the usual route. She then thinks of work and a diversion, but she can’t find it at all. She ends up asking the driver to get off. She then calls the police and gives the number plate of the bus.
The TAM easily finds the bus and the police intervene. The driver initially had great difficulty finding the button to open the door. Then he refuses to turn off the engine and even engages the reverse gear. The police, who know nothing about bus driving, manage to put the gearbox back into neutral as soon as the driver attempts a maneuver.
The man is infamously arrested, he had more than 3 grams of alcohol per liter of blood. He explained that he had a lot of personal problems, recently hired at TAM he did not want to be absent. He now faces dismissal.
