A subsidiary of The post office has developed a cargo bike delivery initiative. The objective is to limit the presence in the city of trucks in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) and thus, to pollute less.
Five days a week, Henry travels the streets of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) on the handlebars of his cargo bike to deliver his customers. The young student mainly delivers restaurant owners. This subsidiary of The post office offers its customers a new service. “We realize that by bike, it’s much faster than with trucks and also to do away with trucks for the city”, details Lionel Arne, scoop.
Ridding the city of surplus trucks through greener deliveries is the goal of this structure, created in 2018. “It is the pooling of goods on the outskirts of the metropolis and the reconstitution of our routes for distribution in the city center (…) We mainly use natural gas or electric vehicles”, precise Phillippe Culos, deputy director ofUrby Toulouse. An initiative that seems to be very popular in the city.
