In Tarare, in the Rhône, a company has made gym training compulsory. These must improve the quality of life at work, but also reduce accidents.

In Tarare (Rhône), a sports trainer helps employees tone their muscles before they start work. “The goal is not to disturb production either”, explains Émilien Legrain, sports coach. In this company specializing in floor coverings, which employs more than 250 people, five different coaches follow one another. Employees must warm up for at least seven minutes before working. “I think it may also limit accidents”, confides a man, who says he feels better.

The positions of the employees are observed in order to best adapt the gym to the positions occupied. “Their accidentology improved, then there were results, if only on the cohesion of the employees”, remarks Jean-Pierre Desbrosses, director of the Plaine site, who sees this sport as a means of improving the quality of life at work. The administrative staff also follow a stretching session.
