A 14-year-old schoolboy, educated in a college in Nîmes (Gard), is the subject of an educational measure, after having wanted to intimidate his teacher by evoking Samuel Paty, reports Thursday, November 8, France Bleu Gard Lozère.
Tuesday, November 16, in a college in Mas-de-Mingue in Nîmes, the boy is reprimanded by his plastic arts teacher for the mess he causes during the course. The teenager then answers him “do you know Samuel Paty?” The young man leads his comrades into the hustle and bustle. Despite the teacher’s requests, he doesn’t stop and measure her. She takes her correspondence book. But the boy repeats his sentence. Summoned to the principal, he refuses to apologize. The next day, the teacher filed a complaint for bullying. The teenager is then arrested at his parents’ home. During his police custody, he admitted the facts without having had “intent to threaten”.
The college student is not known for radicalization. But for Eric Maurel, the prosecutor of Nîmes, “at fourteen”, nothing is ignored of the symbol which he agitated by provocation. The young man receives an educational support measure. Eric Maurel thus intends to mean “its support for the teaching community” and mark “strongly” the line not to be crossed in the fight against separatism.
