Four years ago, after a decision by the state services and Vinci Autoroute concerning the municipalities of Mondragon, Courthézon and Sorgues, it was decided to build several portions of noise walls to protect certain neighborhoods. Only in Courthézon if near the center of the village the wall was built over two kilometers, opposite only one kilometer has been completed.
Since then, it is misunderstanding for the residents concerned, in particular from the hamlet of Plantade, who point out that the wall located in front of their house, on the village center side, is now soundboard and generates much more traffic noise than before 2017.
A collective that has decided to knock on all doors
The residents gathered collectively launched a petition but also wrote to several ministers including that of transport or health, to Vinci autoroute, to the regional directorate of the environment, to the prefect of Vaucluse, to the departmental council or to the mayor of Courthézon. . The latter will also receive them on December 9.
The collective’s paper petition has collected 200 signatures, it is now also online on the change.org site under the title “Stop noise and pollution of highways”. The collective “the sacrifices of Courthézon” is already claiming a noise survey instead of the missing wall to prove their good faith and influence the realization of a sound insulation extension.
