(Montreal) The Royal Canadian Mint is launching a special coin in honor of music legend Oscar Peterson.

The one dollar coin was unveiled this morning in Toronto in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland, as well as relatives of the late Montreal jazz pianist.
Born in Montreal in 1925, Oscar Peterson is widely regarded as one of the greatest jazz pianists of his generation, winning numerous Juno and Grammy awards during his 60-year career.
