Monday, November 13, the “An idea for France” section of 13 Heures goes to discover a club that makes retirees happy in Lyon. Walks, sports lessons, museums… the “Colette” club, which has 25,000 members, offers plenty of activities.

My idea for France is an activity club for people over 60, to help them make new friends in retirement“, explains Justine Renaudet, founder of “Colette”. Who said that retirement rhymes with boredom? At 77, Anne-Marie lives alone, to make friends, she signed up with “Colette”, a club reserved for seniors. My children are in Paris, with my grandchildren, but hey, that’s not enough family, because my daughters work, I don’t see them all the time. And I really need to have a social fabric around me.”explains Anne-Marie Place.

More than 100 activities per week

Since then, twice a week, she goes out, and it does her a lot of good. This evening, go for a blind test in a café. She joins around thirty participants, all of whom have registered on the club application. Colette offers more than 100 activities per week.

There are plenty of other ways to keep yourself busy when you’re retired. Former craftsmen can contact “L’outil en main”, “an association which introduces young people to manual professions. She recruits retired volunteers who want to share their passion“, explains Valérie Heurtel, on the set of 13 Heures, Monday November 13.
