A place: the community hall of the Élysée; a time: 8:15 p.m.; and guests: dozens of French and international journalists for a series of questions and answers. On the clue given at the bottom during his vows, a word hammered out over and over: “rearmament”. But, this Tuesday, what weaponry will the Head of State talk about? For what concrete announcements?
Second press conference for Emmanuel Macron
In recent decades, the press conference exercise has become a classic for presidents of the Fifth Republic. But for Emmanuel Macron, this conference will only be the second. The previous one dates from April 2019, after the Yellow Vest crisis. This time, the moment chosen by the president is not neutral either: a month after the tumultuous vote on the immigration law, and a few days after the much-discussed reshuffle of the government.
