In South Africa, the number of penguins is constantly decreasing. In Cape Town, a clinic takes care of them by feeding and caring for them.

Cape penguins are one of the curiosities of South Africa. The species made their home there millions of years ago, and tourists from all over the world come to admire them. “These are very cute little goofy things“, observes one of them. However, their number has been halved in twenty years. Faced with this observation, on the coast, a park has been built in order to preserve the species. Despite this, the lack of fish endanger penguins.

Climate change greatly alters the life of this colony. Birds don’t reproduce like they used to. (…) It is a sign that Man is doing something wrong“, underlines an eco-guard of the reserve. To the north of the city of Cape Town, a center has been opened so that the penguins can regain their strength, pampered by about twenty keepers. On their arrival, the birds are examined; The most serious cases are treated in an intensive care unit, eventually reintroduced into their natural environment, and each year the center rescues around a thousand penguins.
