The story began, according to city councilor Philippe Neyraud, on September 21 when the city of Chenove celebrated “Republic Day” to highlight fraternity, freedom and equality, the motto of our country. This day also emphasized the freedom of conscience of each and every one of us, “In other words, respect for others!” believes Philippe Neyraud.
In a letter, the elected official explains that he went to this event at the end of the evening “as a Republican and sharing these foundations of our country”, and “in order to participate in a civic manner in the launch of the observatory of secularism”. But the chosen one wonders. “You have to believe that my presence is definitely disturbing the municipality since, early this (Friday) morning, Mayor Thierry Falconnet accuses me via his facebook page of having wanted to bribe a municipal employee in “exchange of files on the Mayor and the municipality…”
And to continue in his letter addressed to the editorial staff of France Bleu Bourgogne that “This process of lie and invent facts when you have nothing on a person is really not worthy of an elected official, and even more so coming from the first aedile. In these conditions, I filed a defamation suit from this day before the Dean of the investigating judges against Mr. Thierry Falconnet, Mayor of Chenôve.”
A precedent at the town hall?
Philippe Neyraud also asserts that “Already in the past, methods of intimidation have been directed against me: gift of a lighter by a deputy with allusions to recent fires, lying and intimidation on the part of another deputy on my person (in front of a member of the municipal police), outrageous remarks aimed at making people believe that I did not like the inhabitants of the large ensemble….”
That promises atmosphere this Monday, September 26, city council day in Chenôve.
