Cirque du Soleil presents the Christmas show discreetly. ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas At New York. After showing at the Chicago Theater at the end of November, it will be showing until December 27 at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden.
Based on an 1823 poem by Clement Clarke Moore, A visit from St. Nicholas, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas is not a new creation from Cirque. Just as discreetly, the show had already been presented in December 2019, also in New York and Chicago.
An album of the show’s soundtrack, a mix of compositions and reworked Christmas classics, all orchestrated by Quebec musical director Jean-Phi Goncalves, was released at that time.
Cirque du Soleil has made several attempts to establish itself in New York. Opened in December 2017, the immersive NFL Experience attraction, located near Times Square, lasted less than a year. As for the musical By love, flayed by critics, it only lasted a year on Broadway, from 2016 to 2017.
