Cœur de pirate has released a new Christmas song called Perfect Christmas.
On Instagram, the singer-songwriter describes Perfect Christmas like a “song against the grain for your holiday season”. This original composition, which could be described as an earworm, is available exclusively on Amazon Music.
Musically, Perfect Christmas respects the Christmas tradition, bells included. In terms of lyrics, Cœur de pirate, however, leaves the beaten (snow) paths. Forget the avalanche of good feelings usually reserved for tracks like this. Pirate heart takes advantage of Perfect Christmas to settle scores with someone who has disappointed her. In the first verse, she sings: “But me, I look at happiness with a bewildered eye / And the heartache has risen / Because on my list for Santa Claus I only wished / That a beautiful misfortune can you to arrive. “
