A children’s orchestra, an earthquake in France and a new dinosaur: news from a child’s perspective

The Demos orchestras, an earthquake that affects the west of France and a new species of dinosaur: this is the menu of “Salut l’info!” this week.

“Hi info, this is the info you need!” This is the slogan of this podcast produced by franceinfo radio and Astrapi magazine: every week, “Salut l’info!” tells the news to children aged 7 to 11, giving them a voice. On the microphone this week to co-present the episode: Joséphine, 12, who loves mythology!

The children may have also felt this earthquake which hit the west of France on June 16: no serious injuries but at least 5,000 damaged buildings. How does an earthquake occur and what is the damage? We talk about it in this new episode.

Let the music !

The news takes us back in time, more than 72 million years ago. This is the age of a new species of dinosaur discovered in Chile. Also in the news, we discover that an old Beatles song will be recreated thanks to artificial intelligence. “How did they do it?”, asks Josephine. Answer in this episode!

Wednesday, June 21, it’s the beginning of summer and the music festival! For the occasion, “Hello news!” went to slip his microphones into a rehearsal of the Demos orchestras, made up of children. They are giving a series of concerts at the Philarmoni in Paris from June 23 to 25! Rémi d’Astrapi pays us a visit…

Tips for fear of thunderstorms

The news is full of storms this week… several departments were on alert because of these bad weather. In our “We tell each other everything” section, Simon tells us about his fear of storms. With the help of our psychologist Nadège Larcher, we give him advice to reassure himself.

We also listen to three children’s jokes left on the show’s answering machine and in the “Club Salut l’info!”, Joséphine introduces us to her rather special class which studies mythology.

Good listening !
