A child who was walking was seriously injured Tuesday morning in the Sainte-Marie district, near downtown Montreal, when he was hit by a car.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) specifies that upon his arrival at the hospital, the state of health of the young pedestrian was considered critical.
The impact would have occurred around 8:05 a.m. in a residential area, on rue Parthenais near the intersection of rue de Rouen. Police attended after a call was made to the 911 emergency hotline.
Around 9:15 a.m., the SPVM had not yet confirmed whether the person driving the car had been located.
A security perimeter has been erected to allow investigators to begin their work to understand what happened.
