A chase results in two arrests

Two men in stolen cars were arrested early Wednesday morning, after a chase with police, on Highway 20 near Drummondville in Center-du-Québec.

The event began around 5:45 a.m. when citizens reported the strange behavior of two drivers on Highway 20 at kilometer 175 towards Montreal.

When the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police officers attempted to intercept the two individuals, they refused to stop, starting a chase.

“The vehicles finally stopped at kilometer 138 for one of the two, and at kilometer 123 for the other,” said agent Louis-Philippe Ruel, spokesperson for the SQ.

According to the police, the two cars had been reported stolen in the Capitale-Nationale.

Two men, aged 20 and 22, were arrested and will be interviewed by investigators.

The chase did not cause any accidents and no one was injured during the chase, the spokesperson said.
