Thursday, July 14, the military parade gave pride of place to France’s support for Ukraine. Nine Eastern Allies marched alongside French soldiers.

Thursday July 14, 2022 in the morning, the military parade, on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, was placed under the sign of the conflict in Ukraine. The flag bearers of nine Eastern European countries, allies of France, participated in the parade chaired by Emmanuel Macron. Symbols of France’s support for Ukraine, the Caesar cannons rolled over the cobblestones of the Avenue des Champs-Elysées. The standard-bearers of Eastern countries were at the head of the procession. “We are proud that they are there and that they know that France is them”says a passerby.

Spectators were also able to admire the Patrouille de France crossing the Parisian sky. One by one, the various army corps paraded: 4,925 men and women in total. The firefighters were the most applauded. They are put to the test, particularly in the summer. The ceremony ended with the athletes, and in particular the medalists from Tokyo (Japan).
