A cat officially euthanized by a Var veterinarian is found by her mistress in Hyères

It is an almost unbelievable and yet unfortunately true and painful story for the family that is the victim. The family who welcomed Macha, a little cat for two years, and who had to say goodbye to her last May after a serious car accident in which the little feline suffered. The animal was euthanized in a well-established veterinary clinic in Hyères. A certificate and the invoice of the act attest to this. Yet in July, Masha reappeared on Instagram, alive and well, but adopted by another family.

It is Sophie, the daughter of the bereaved family who discovers a photo on Instagram in July that upsets her. “It was an announcement from a lady who said she had lost her cat in Hyères. Except that the photo of the cat which was named like mine, was ultra resembling“. Especially since Masha is a cat in the tortoiseshell coata shade that is not common.

Faced with so many disturbing details, Sophie decides to contact the lady. She replies willingly that she has “adopted this little cat a short time ago in a veterinary clinic in Hyères. Her masters had abandoned her after a serious car accident.” she explains, specifying that she therefore adopted the animal after having paid the vaccination costs (vaccines that Macha already had!).

Doubt no longer has its place. It is indeed the same Masha. The veterinarian is then summoned to explain. “She was vague in her explanations, she never imagined that we could find her. She said to herself that as our pain was over, she did not see us call back to tell us that finally our cat was better. We felt betrayed. He’s our cat, like a member of the family. One day it’s there and the next day it’s gone. While in reality yes, she was still there” Storm Sophie.

The family declined to file a complaint. The veterinarian pledged to care for Masha gracefully for the duration of her life. “What she can’t repay is the pain we went through when we had to put her down and then. It was very hard for us“concludes Sophie.

Reached by telephone, the veterinary clinic did not respond to our requests.
