a castle partly classified as a historical monument ravaged by a fire

It is a rather rare intervention which occupies the firefighters of the Orne since the middle of the night. They were called this Wednesday, December 8, at 1:24 am, for a fire in the castle of Aunay-les-Bois located between Alençon and Moulins-la-Marche. When they arrived there, the monument of 600 square meters was partly ablaze. A man who resides there had come out.

This Wednesday morning, at 5:30 am, around 80 firefighters, coming from all the department of Orne, still fight against the flames. No casualties are to be deplored according to the emergency services. The roofs and the facade of the building dating from the 17th century are classified historical monument.
