A case of tuberculosis was detected at the Joseph Chassigneux college in Vinay (Isère), almost two months ago, reveals France Bleu Isère. Parents of students were called on Monday, June 5, to be informed. In all, 150 adolescents out of the 600 in the college must be screened.
According to the college, the sick person is fine, she has been isolated and placed under treatment. His identity has not been revealed, the management does not specify whether he is a student, a teacher or a member of staff.
A quarter of the students will therefore have to take a blood test and an x-ray of the lungs. A letter will be sent to families this week: screening will be free and paid for by the Center for the Fight against Tuberculosis (Clat) in Grenoble. If the result is positive, the person will be isolated for three weeks and treated with antibiotics.
