The tragedy unfolded on a major and busy shopping street in Berlin, Tauentzienstrasse, near the Zoo bus station. Around 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, uA car hit passers-by, killing one person and injuring at least eight others, firefighters told AFP and the German press (in German). The driver was arrested, police said, without specifying whether it was an intentional act or a loss of control of the vehicle.
