The gendarmerie of Orthez, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, is appealing for witnesses after the death of a 14-year-old girl, Tuesday April 11, hit by a car in Rivehaute, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. The vehicle fled, learned France Bleu Béarn Bigorre.

The teenager was hit by a car in Rivehaute on the RD23, around 10 p.m. while she was with her two brothers. In a press release, the public prosecutor of Pau, Rodolphe Jarry, indicates that “Three teenagers from the same siblings were cycling and rollerblading on departmental road 23”. Among them, a 14-year-old girl was “hit from behind by a car”. According to the prosecutor, the driver did not stop and fled.

His two brothers hospitalized

When they arrived, the emergency services could only confirm the death of the victim. His two brothers were obviously not hit by the car, but they are hospitalized.

The Orthez gendarmerie is appealing for witnesses to try to find the driver. “Anyone likely to have witnessed the facts is asked to report to the gendarmes of the Orthez research brigade on 05 59 82 40 00”concludes the prosecutor in his press release.
