In the United States, a ram car raced through a crowd, mowing everything in its path. The scene took place during a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin. At least five people died, and around 40 others were injured.
In Wisconsin, a man in a car drove into a crowd during a Christmas parade. On a video that the France Télévisions teams were able to obtain, the scene is chaotic. A woman screams in terror as the sirens of police cars sound. Parents shout out the names of their children. “I heard screams, I saw the vehicle rush into the marching band, it ran over two people and then continued on its way“, testifies Angela O’Boyle, a resident of the city.
Five people were killed and around 40 people were injured. Half of the injured are children. “I saw little girls thrown in the air, I saw people lying on the ground“, says Sarah Saldiva who was present during the parade with her two children. The driver was arrested. He is a 37-year-old man, convicted multiple times for acts of violence and drug trafficking. He had just been released on bail.
