Since February 12, TF1 has broadcast the new season of its cult show, “Koh-Lanta” every Tuesday evening. Called “Koh-Lanta: The Immunity Hunters”, this 25th edition keeps all its promises and gives the famous immunity necklaces hidden in the jungle a power never given before.
If lovers of the famous adventure program are delighted, we remember that in 2018, they were deprived of the broadcast for a sad reason. A sordid affair of sexual assault had in fact led to the sudden interruption of filming which was taking place in the Fiji Islands.
Koh-Lanta 2018: a sexual assault case interrupts filming
A few hours after the announcement of the interruption of filming, on May 11, 2018, it was revealed that the candidate who claimed to have been the victim of sexual assault is Candide Renard… who is none other than the girl daughter of football coach Hervé Renard. We also learned that the man she accuses of sexually assaulting her is Eddy Guyot, another candidate who was 33 years old at the time of the incident.
Following this accusation, all the candidates were immediately repatriated to France and some spoke to tell what they saw. As soon as he left the plane, the young man was questioned by the police. “Every night, I slept between a man and the wall of the cabin. Candide, she was further away. When the cameramen came back in the night to film us, I woke up and Candide was half on top of me. It was filmed and it completely exonerates me.” he declared, therefore firmly denying the facts.
Koh-Lanta 2018: Eddy Guyot indicted
After a long investigation carried out and supervised by the Nancy public prosecutor’s office (Meurthe-et Moselle), a twist has finally taken place. According to information from Le Parisien, Eddy Guyot was indicted for sexual assault on November 16, 2022. On March 14, the investigating chamber of the Nancy Court of Appeal rejected the request for the annulment of the measure which means that the young man could soon have to answer the accusations during a trial.
