Enter here star Academy And The Voicethere are a lot of points in common: animatorobviously, since Nikos Aliagas oversees both shows; the concept, also, since these are two talent shows where only the voice counts (or almost); And the candidates, of course, who all have the same dream, that of one day becoming artists and making a living from their passion. But the two shows are not necessarily the same: in fact, the producers of The Voice are not really looking for the same profiles as those cast by the producers of the
star Academy
and some talents pay the price despite themselves.
This is the case of Baptiste Sartoria. The 21-year-old young man, who caused a sensation this Saturday February 17, 2024 during the second blind auditions of The Voice, caught the attention of all the coaches, but also of Julien Doré from his screen. The latter fought so much that Vianney ended up super-blocking his rival Zazie, thus preventing the young man from choosing the one with whom he wanted to work. But in reality, Baptiste had not originally thought of participating in The Voice. As he revealed to Télé-Loisirs, Vianney’s talent had initially applied to join the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys… but was rejected manu militari by Jean-Louis Blot and Mathieu Vergnethe co-producers of the format.
The voice on one side, the profile and youth on the other
This is how Baptiste Sartoria passed the castings, fortuitously, of
The Voice
. But unlike DMLSTV and EndemolShine, ITV Studios France loved his profile, and Bruno Berbères cast him ! As explained by Rémi Faure, entertainment director of TF1 in an interview with Puremediasthe casting criteria of the two brands are diametrically opposed: “The Voice, only the voice counts. It’s the baseline of the show. We could do the casting by closing our eyes (…) We don’t dig deeper into the personalities than that. It’s really the artistic proposition, the voice that we validate. On Star Academy castings, we want a voice potential but which is not totally accomplished or mastered. It’s much younger, more blue. We assume this potential. The cast is also younger. Personality matters in Star Academy.”
