A candidate for “Love is in the meadow” dies at 52, just after eating a pizza

Since 2005, the show “L’amour est dans le pré” has been on M6 every year. After 18 seasons during which farmers lead us in their quest for love, success is still there, so much so that a new edition is already in preparation… In Belgium too, the program is a real hit. ratings and 14 seasons have already been shown on the small screen. The program presented by Sandrine Dans also follows farmers in the country who want to find a companion capable of adapting to life on the farm and cherishing them on a daily basis.

But today it is the whole family “Love is in the meadow” who is again in mourning after the announcement of the death of Jean-François, a farmer seen in the Belgian version of the show in 2021 Well-known market gardener in the town of Quévy for his Potager des Délices, Jean-François died on Tuesday April 18, 2023, just two days after celebrating his 52nd birthday.

If Jean-François was the happy father of four children, it was Valentin, his eldest son, who broke the silence to announce the terrible news and to explain the circumstances of his father’s death: “He had a good time with my little brother. They had played football in the village square. They had fun. Then they went for pizza. He really liked this dish. He asked for the bill and his heart stopped. He died accompanied by a person he loved” he told Sud Info.

“He was an exceptional dad”
Very affected by the death of his father, Valentin then multiplied the praise for him speaking in his name but also in that of his brothers and sisters namely Camille, Amandine and Noé: “He was an exceptional dad. He gave lots of love and wanted us to be as happy as possible. He is someone who loved people. He didn’t take himself seriously. He knew how to make people laugh. He was always trying to find something to make people happy“. While the future of the “Potager des Délices” remains uncertain, the young man took the opportunity to make an update: “I’m the eldest and I’m only 16. Not really a priority right now“.

As revealed by the Belgian press, the funeral of Jean-François will be celebrated at the Saint-Martin church in Hornu this Saturday April 22, 2023 at 11 a.m. The burial will then take place in the strictest privacy. All those who would like to pay their respects to him will be able to do so this Friday, April 21 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Vandermest funeral home in Hornu.
