The Gendarmerie of Haute-Savoie launched a call for witnesses on Wednesday to find a 51-year-old fathernearly two weeks after the discovery of the body of her ten-year-old daughter, found asphyxiated at her home in Haute-Savoie. “The girl’s father is actively sought throughout the national territory. He would be likely to travel aboard a white Citroën Jumpy registered EK-208-ZL and accompanied by an American staff dog”, writes the police.
The 50-year-old, who is already the subject ofan international arrest warrant, is of “European type”, is 1.76 meters tall and wears “long brown hair” as well as’“a long, thick, slightly graying beard”, specifies the call for witnesses which is accompanied by two photos of the individual as well as those of his vehicle and his dog.
“The gendarmes of Haute-Savoie are looking for all testimonies of people allowing to locate the individual”, who own “a very good level of sailing” and would be “likely to leave the territory by sea”, continues the police. “Don’t intervene yourself!”she still warns to the public address while addressing a freephone number (0800.97.10.71) to be dialed if the father is seen.
On May 12, it was the older brother of the victim, born in 2011, who discovered the body at the family home, located in Veigy-Foncenex, a town located on the Swiss border, according to the Annecy prosecutor’s office. The house had been partially burned down but the girl’s autopsy later concluded that she was not “obviously not deceased because of the fire but of mechanical asphyxiation”. “Unreachable since the evening of the facts”, the father was crossing “marital crisis” with the mother of the child, according to the same source.
