(Montreal) An automobile parked near a multi-unit building in the Saint-Henri district, in southwestern Montreal, was destroyed by arson late Thursday evening.

The flames did not spread to the building, but they damaged another vehicle. The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) did not report any injuries or arrests.
It was a call to the 911 emergency telephone center around 11 p.m. that led firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department (SSIM) to put out the fire near the building located on Notre-Dame Street West, near the intersection of rue Saint-Rémi. The police arrived soon after.
Witnesses told police that two people were seen fleeing the scene of the fire on foot. Moreover, shortly after the extinction of the flames, the police had already been able to gather information from some witnesses.
Firefighters did not find any incendiary objects in the rubble. After the end of their operations, they entrusted the investigation to the SPVM arson squad.
The remains of the destroyed automobile were to be towed overnight Friday for analysis.
