The countdown begins. In thirteen short days, fans of The Crown will discover the images of the new season of the program. This release is as expected as it is decried and criticized. If the first seasons were able to make people smile sometimes, season 5 does not attract attention for the same reasons. Over the course of the releases, several eras of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II are represented. Season 5 returns to the end of the 1990s and therefore to the tragic disappearance of Princess Diana. A leap in time that not everyone sees very favorably.
As images from the filming of this maligned season reveal, what the public and those close to Diana do not understand is the highlighting of the last moments of the Princess of Wales in Paris before the fatal accident of the bridge of Alma. If the shock is fortunately not brought to the screen, discovering the minutes preceding it is indecent: “It’s obviously terrible for his sons Harry and William to have to go through all this again. It’s a cruel lack of sensitivity towards themtestified Debbie Frank, friend and astrologer of Diana Spencer, with the DailyMail. I experienced Diana’s death very closely and I can tell you that her accident was a huge shock for an entire generation. It had a huge impact on everyone’s mental health.”
In addition to putting images of this terrible period for the royal family, the question of timing arises, the release being scheduled only two months after the death of Queen Elizabeth II: “This time, The Crown goes way too far. Prince Harry, they’ve overstepped the mark and it’s very disrespectful to your mother. Filming just 100 yards from the crash site, Netflix is so desperate to make a profit off the backs of the royal family.“While several people have expressed their thoughts in the media, the main interested parties, the active members of the Crown, have not reacted.
