A three-story building collapsed in the city center of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) on the night of Friday March 8 to Saturday March 9. There were no casualties in the accident as the building had been evacuated.

The nine apartments in the building as well as the two businesses had already been evacuated since Tuesday March 5, due to numerous cracks. Nearly thirty people had to be urgently evacuated to neighboring buildings.
No casualties
“I was woken up by the firefighters in my room because they banged on my door,” says a resident. The area was immediately cordoned off. Around fifty firefighters have been working since the middle of the night to check that there is no one under the rubble. So far, the collapse has caused no casualties. The authorities are trying to find out the causes of this collapse. Residents of neighboring buildings were placed in a municipal room before being offered temporary accommodation.
