The developer Batidur went bankrupt due to the rise in the price of raw materials. As a result, more than 130 houses are left unfinished.
In Limoges (Haute-Vienne), the construction site of a housing development has been at a standstill for months. After filing for bankruptcy, the builder Batidur left more than 130 houses unfinished. For pending owners, as stipulated in the sales contract, a new builder will soon be appointed to take over the site. But, as required by the law on delivery guarantee, Julie Fruit, a former client of Batidur, will have to pay a deductible of 5% of the construction price. An additional cost and deadlines extended by six months which require him to pay a rental.
Some continue the construction sites themselves
Maisons Batidur has been a renowned company in the region for around forty years. It would not have survived the rise in the price of raw materials, according to its CEO. Among the 130 files remaining pending, some future owners have decided to continue their projects themselves. François Cyprien, a former customer of Batidur, paid a penalty of 16,000 euros to break the sales contract.
