A little quieter day on the Giro? After a 13th day of racing planed and adjusted to deal with the weather conditions, the peloton returns to a slightly more classic stage format. 194 kilometers await the runners between Sierre (Switzerland) and Cassano Magnago (Italy), who temporarily leave the Alps. On the program, the ascent of the Passo del Sempione, a first category pass, before 150 kilometers of descent and flat towards the region of Milan.

After the first difficulty of the day, the fastest runners will have their card to play. Already stage winners from the start, Jonathan Milan (Bahrain-Victorious) and Pascal Ackermann (UAE Team Emirates) will want to play for the double. Those who have not yet won, like Mark Cavendish (Astana) or Fernando Gaviria (UAE Emirates) will no doubt be keen to put on a good show. Unless a breakaway is organized to go to the end, imposing too fast a pace for the sprinters.
