To counter soaring transport prices, Spain has chosen to make some train tickets free from Thursday 1 September. “Just this morning, the Spanish Minister of Transport announced a 50% increase in users of these free trains. These are in fact suburban trains and regional trains that Spanish travelers will therefore be able to take until December 31.explains Elise Gazengellive from Barcelona (Spain).

It is a personal pass valid for one trip that allows you to take advantage of this transport for free. “And in the metros, this time it is a reduction of at least 30% on all subscriptions applied everywhere in Spain”adds the journalist. However, there is no additional car planned to manage the crowds. The boost for public transport is expected to cost the state 430 million euros.
