On Wednesday March 9, a bombardment hit the children’s hospital in Mariupol (Ukraine). Panic seized the civilians who could not hide their fears. Rescuers are trying to rescue crying children, while their parents can only see the damage. Across the hallways, changing tables and beds were projected. Everything was blown up under the effect of the explosion. Outside, a huge crater, whose origin would be the bomb that caused the explosion of the hospital. According to a first provisional report, 17 adults were injured by what President Volodymyr Zelensky describes as “a Russian airstrike“.

For the past few days, Russian troops have been surrounding and pounding Mariupol. The pediatric hospital is far from the only one affected. Many buildings were destroyed, turning the city into a field of ruins. According to the WHO, 19 health facilities have been destroyed since the start of the war.
