A body was found in the north of Spain in Jaca, in the area where a man suspected of the double murder of teachers in France was wanted, learned France Bleu Béarn Bigorre Monday March 20, 2023 from the prosecutor of Pau, confirming a information from the Spanish press. On the evening of July 4, 2022, two teachers were killed in the Hautes-Pyrénées in Pouyastruc. Cédric Tauleygne, 34 years old at the time, is suspected of having killed Gabriel Fourmigué and Aurélie Pardon, of whom he was the husband. Gabriel Fourmigué and Cédric Tauleygne had been in a relationship for a few weeks.
DNA analyzes in progress
The body has not yet been formally identified. This is why Rodolphe Jarry, the prosecutor of Pau, calls for caution. “Investigations are being carried out to deny or confirm that it is indeed the body of Cédric Tauleygne”, he told France Bleu Béarn Bigorre. Examinations are in progress, in particular DNA analyzes to obtain confirmation of the identity of the body found.
The search had begun on the evening of the double murder. A Sparrowhawk plan was then triggered, recalls France Bleu. Since then, dozens of gendarmes have searched the Hautes-Pyrénées and neighboring departments, with particular vigilance in Pouyastruc and Barbazan-Dessus where the man lived. Cédric Tauleygne lived in Barbazan-Dessus, but was employed in Béarn, in Bordes, on the Safran site which produces helicopter engines. Former reservist of the gendarmerie and former reservist of the 35th RAP of Tarbes, Cédric Tauleygne was also a sports shooter and a seasoned cyclist.
