A body found in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

The body of a 71-year-old man was found Friday evening in a dwelling in the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie borough, in Montreal.

A call was made around 9 p.m. to 911 concerning an unresponsive man, said a spokeswoman for the Montreal Police Department, Jeanne Drouin. The accommodation where the man was located is located on 4e avenue, not far from rue Dandurand.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police pronounced the victim dead. The cause of his death remains unknown, and it is impossible to confirm if it is a death of a criminal nature at this stage, affirms the agent Drouin. There were “possibly marks of violence” on the man’s body.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Section are on scene to determine the cause and circumstances of death. A security perimeter has been erected.
