After the discovery of a body “walled in a concrete sarcophagus” in the Atrium bar in Nice on Wednesday June 29, the manager of the establishment admits being the author of the murder, announced Friday July 1 the prosecution in a press release sent to franceinfo.

According to the same source, during his police custody, the man indicates that he acted alone “both for the homicide and for the concealment of the body and the cleaning up of the scene”. However, a second individual recognized “having struck the victim and then witnessed the murder committed by the manager of the establishment.”

The two defendants were indicted and imprisoned for “murder and modification of the crime scene”, said the public prosecutor of Nice, Xavier Bonhomme, to AFP.

The 34-year-old man was reported missing on February 7, before his disappearance was reported to the Alpes-Maritimes departmental security eight days later, on February 15. A judicial investigation was opened on May 6. It was on June 29 that the manager was arrested. An arrest followed by a search at the bar where the body was found in concrete with the presence of numerous traces of blood.
