One in two women today suffer from pain during their periods, sometimes linked to diseases such as endometriosis. Green deputies have tabled a bill to establish menstrual leave in France of up to 13 days of sick leave per year, without deficiency. The text will be presented to the Assembly on April 4.

One in two women suffer from pain during their periods, sometimes linked to diseases such as endometriosis. “I have memories of acute crisis, where I was doubled over on my couch crying. I couldn’t concentrate, I couldn’t really do anything,” confides an employee, suffering from endometriosis and “paralyzed by pain”. Municipalities and companies have already introduced menstrual leave in France.
