A beach in the city center: what do Montrealers think?

A beach in the heart of the City of Montreal. This is what the Canada Lands Company has as a vision for the Wellington Basin sector. The landscape could therefore completely change within the next 10 to 15 years.

For the new Bassins beach project to come to fruition, significant work will have to be carried out, including decontamination operations estimated at nearly $77 million. Some 2,800 new housing units would also be built, including 1,000 units of affordable and social housing.

But what do Montrealers think? Are they ready to go swimming near the city center? The QMI Agency went to the Griffintown neighborhood to ask them the question.
