Stay together in the mountains. This is the message delivered by the Ariège gendarmerie group this Monday evening, after a fortunately unusual intervention. A nine-year-old child, who was hiking with his family, got lost on the Beille plateau for more than two hours at the end of the day.

The operation is led by the gendarmerie company of Foix (about fifteen gendarmes), associating the PGHM (high mountain gendarmerie platoon) and its canine team. The gendarmerie helicopter (Choucas 09) is also deployed. Finally, many hikers are associated with research.
More than two hours later, and thanks to the hikers, the child was found safe and sound. Slightly disoriented and shocked, he saw a doctor, as a precaution.
